EMMES Corporation Services

Ravinder Anand, Ph.D.

Vice President

Why I joined Emmes

I’d been studying at The George Washington University, and I was looking for some practical experience as I started to work on my dissertation. The opportunity to join Emmes as a statistician as I pursued my Ph.D. was very appealing.

How I describe our firm to other people

We’re a full-service CRO. We partner with researchers and organizations with a commitment to improving public health.

A bit about me

My family is my number-one priority, and we enjoy traveling and learning together.

The best part about working here

The highly motivated, yet approachable and down-to-earth people who are my colleagues. People tend to come here and stay. Everyone is truly interested in improving public health.

The best compliment I’ve ever received about Emmes

I get a lot of compliments about our teams, and there are two recurring themes: how collaborative we are and our service is above and beyond what they expected.

My background

After getting my master’s degree, I was a research fellow for the Ford Motor Company; later, I worked as a teaching assistant and statistical consultant at The George Washington University while studying for my doctorate degree. I came to Emmes in 1993. I’ve had the privilege to work primarily on pediatric studies including leading projects in pediatric liver transplantation and clinical trials for the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act. One of the things I did earlier in my career involved developing a ranking system to prioritize organ allocation for children waiting for liver transplantations. The system is still being used today in the U.S. and many other countries around the world.
